Caring for a matte finish is a little different than caring for a glossy one. Make sure you’re using the right products!
Matte looks matte because it’s textured at the microscopic level. Light is scattered by the hills and valleys in the finish to produce a diffused sheen. Gloss, on the other hand, is flat and reflects light directly.
Most car care products include waxes and oils to fill in defects and make the paint’s surface as flat as possible as to maximize gloss. If you use products formulated with waxes and oils, they’ll fill in the hills and valleys that produce the diffused matte look.
That’s why Dr. Beasley’s matte finish care products are formulated without waxes, oils or silicone and are engineered to maintain the flat look of a matte or satin finish.
