CHICAGO — Car care manufacturer Dr. Beasley’s is working with Hyundai again to provide “Dr. Beasley’s Matte Paint Prescription” care kits to Hyundai customers, this time for the new matte finish exterior color options on the 2022 Genesis G70, GV70 and GV80. This is Dr. Beasley’s third time partnering with Hyundai, previously providing the matte care kit for matte finish options on the Hyundai Veloster and Kona models.

Dr. Beasley’s manufactures luxury automotive detailing products, and their matte paint finish care products are among their top sellers. “Most car care products are made with fillers like wax to produce a shine,” explains Jim Lafeber, who founded the company over a decade ago and formulates all their products. “That’s not what you want with a matte finish, because adding gloss fills in the surface imperfections that create the signature diffused appearance. Instead you need solutions that both exclude filling ingredients and are engineered to keep a matte look.”

Dr. Beasley’s was the first to manufacture care products for matte finishes in 2011, garnering a reputation as a resource for matte finish expertise among major car manufacturers. “We were the first, so OEMs like Dodge, Audi and Hyundai all looked to us for advice as they explored matte and overall were happy with what they tried,” Jim says. “That’s why Hyundai turned to us again for the matte Genesis options — they know we have the solutions their customers need.”

Explaining further, Jim points out that manufacturers are typically anxious about matte options because their customers are unaware of the special care products involved. “But if you give them the right products to clean, protect and maintain the finish from the very beginning, you’re ensuring a good experience with their vehicle.”

Hyundai provides the “Dr. Beasley’s Matte Paint Prescription” directly to Hyundai and Genesis dealerships, who then provide them to customers optioning for a matte finish. Jim explains that the kit comes with products to clean, protect and maintain the matte finish without altering the appearance in addition to accessories like wash bucket, microfiber towels, coating applicators and wash pads. In total, the kit retails for $215.96 USD on drbeasleys.com but is provided free to Genesis customers optioning a matte exterior color.

Customers receiving the specialized care kit are also eligible to register a “Genesis VIP” account with Dr. Beasley’s. “Genesis VIPs will get a complimentary product to maintain the matte paint’s protection, detailed care guides and Rewards on future orders,” Jim says. “We just want to make it as easy as possible to keep these beautiful finishes looking great.”

Jim and the Dr. Beasley’s team are eager to continue their partnership with Hyundai and show more car lovers that matte finishes aren’t out of the question when it comes to care. “I’m very excited to continue the relationship with Hyundai and their Genesis division. ” Jim says. “It’s a unique opportunity to tell the world that keeping a matte paint finish looking good is possible.”

The matte finish color options for the new 2022 GV70 and GV80 are Melbourne Grey and Barossa Burgundy. Melbourne Grey is also featured on the 2022 G70 Launch Edition.
