Matte Finish Care
Articles and vides on how to maintain a matte finish car in its original appearance.
Fresh water spots can be removed with detail spray or a wash. Older, more stubborn water spots require chemicals to loosen their bond with the paint. Water spots left for long periods of time in hot, sunny conditions may etch into the paint and require polishing to remove.

If you see water spots on your car, try to remove them with a wash or detail spray. If that doesn’t remove them, move to a more aggressive solution like a dedicated water spot remover. Water spots that cannot be removed chemically may be etched into the paint. In this case, the only way to remove the imprint(s) is by machine polishing.
There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach for removing water spots. The best advice is to start with non-invasive removal methods like washing and only use more aggressive techniques when the water spots prove too stubborn to remove with normal cleaning solutions.
