How to Correct Gelcoat on Boats | Live Online Detailing Class with Mike Phillips

Much like you can polish the paint on a car to remove scratches and oxidation, you can also polish the paint on a boat. Over time, the protective gelcoat on a boat’s paint sustains damage from scratches, oxidation from UV exposure and environmental contamination. This can make the boat’s paint look dull and increases the risk of damage to the underlying fiberglass hull. That’s why it’s important to periodically correct the gelcoat using polish and in some cases a compound before protecting against future scratches, oxidation and contamination with a ceramic coating for boats.
