New Matte Painted BMW M3 & M5

BMW’s “Frozen” paint was one of the first factory matte options available to the general public. Now it looks like they’re expanding their options. As reported by Autoblog, BMW has announced that three new colors (red, white and blue) will be released in limited quantities to the UK. How limited? 30 each. Making this initial release of matte Ms one of the most exclusive matte offerings ever, joining the likes of Mercedes’ C63 AMG in Designo Magno, Hyundai’s upcoming Veloster Turbo, and Maserati’s GranTurismo S.

One thing’s for sure, these new M3s and M5s are a welcome addition the matte paint world. And to any potential owners, make sure you check out our review of BMW’s matte paint guidelines. Caring for matte paint is no harder than a normal car, and actually is much simpler because of the things you can’t do. That doesn’t mean it’s tough to maintain though.
