Ceramic Coating The World’s Most Expensive 1994 Supra

Early 90s Toyota Supra’s have something of a cult following these days. Maybe it’s the 1993 Supra Paul Walker drove in The Fast and the Furious. Maybe it’s their reputation as top-notch race cars. Or maybe they just look really cool! Either way, well-maintained ’94 Supra’s fetch far beyond what you’d think on the used market, regularly going for 50, 60, even 80 grand… until 2019.

Right after New Year’s, Jalopnik got wind of a ’94 Supra that had reached $90,000 and counting on auction site Bring a Trailer. The car was totally pristine with just over 7,000 miles on the odometer. As bids came rolling in, the number grew and grew until the auction closed out at an astounding bid of $121,000. The buyer? Chicago Northside Toyota. As it happens, the West Ridge dealership was looking for something to drum up excitement for the 2020 Toyota Supra, and this ’94 Supra fit the bill perfectly.

Fast forward a few weeks, and Dr. Beasley’s gets a call from Chicago Northside Toyota. They asked if our detailing practice, Simon’s Shine Shop, could get the car in tip-top shape for display at the dealership right next to the 2020 Supra. That meant protecting the exterior with the highest grade nano coatings available: Dr. Beasley’s Nano-Resin Pro, Dr. Beasley’s Glass Serum Pro, and Dr. Beasley’s Headlight Coating. Safe to say we obliged. Check out the footage we shot during the process:
