A one step ceramic coating? When one step finishing polishes and glazes with supposed “ceramic” protection appeared a couple years ago, many suggested that a true one step ceramic coating was soon to come — paintwork correction legend Mike Phillips included.
Now, in 2020, Dr. Beasley’s is delivering on this prediction in the form of NSP Z1, a one-step primer & coating that relies on the same “DxPrime” technology pioneered by the NSP system released earlier this year. With Z1 now available, we’re doing a quick preview of Z1’s specs and all the coverage we’ve got coming up on Behind the Detail.
So what is Z1? Let’s break it down:
Product type: One-step primer & nanocoating
Abrasives: Composite microspheres
Carrier: Protective resin formulated with TiO2, SiO2 and other curated ceramics
Ideal for: Newer vehicles, lightly scratched vehicles, jobs requiring fast results
Can be layered with: Waxes, sealants, <1 year ceramic coatings
Reflective quality: Mirror-like, deep
Durability: 1+ years (with proper maintenance using AdvanceCoat: Gloss)
Protects against: UVA/B, environmental contaminants, insect remains, bird droppings, abrasion
Hydrophobicity: Water contact angle 100°+
As we get closer and closer to the Z1 launch, we’ll be covering the science behind composite microsphere abrasives and one-step nanocoatings, case studies from enthusiasts and professionals, and, most importantly, jaw-droppingly glossy results for you to ogle.
