Rivian to Use Dr. Beasley’s Auto Detailing Product at New Service Centers

Dr. Beasley’s Nano Surface Primer Technology Will Help Repair Rivian Paintwork

CHICAGO, 2/28/2022 – Chicago-based detailing product manufacturer Dr. Beasley’s announced today that the electric vehicle automaker Rivian will use Dr. Beasley’s “Nano Surface Primer” technology at their new Service Centers. The new paintwork correction technology will be used to enhance the appearance and bolster the durability of Rivian vehicle paint before delivery to the customer.

The partnership brings together two tech-focused, environmentally-conscious companies. Rivian is renowned for its innovation in electric vehicle design, while Dr. Beasley’s has a reputation for sourcing eco-friendly ingredients and engineering new detailing technologies.

The decision to partner with Dr. Beasley’s came from Rivian’s need to ensure their vehicles’ paint is in perfect condition when delivered to the customer.

“Between the factory and delivery, it’s not uncommon for vehicles to sustain minor aesthetic damage before they reach the customer,” says Jim Lafeber, Dr. Beasley’s founder and president, who also formulates all of their products. “Rivian needed something to recondition the finish while maintaining the protective clear coat, and they found NSP 150 to work best.”

Conventional automotive paint polish was not an option for Rivian, as it has a destructive effect on the clear coat.

“When you remove a scratch with a buffer and polish, you’re leveling down the clear coat, which can compromise the paint’s protection,” Jim explains. “Nano Surface Primers like NSP 150, on the other hand, restore the vehicle’s clear coat while they take out scratches.”

It was the efficiency of NSP 150, however, that ultimately led Rivian to move forward with the partnership.

“The other unique thing about NSP 150 is that it can remove heavy defects while still finishing out into a beautiful shine,” Jim says. “Typically heavy defects require a two-step process, but NSP 150 is versatile enough to cut and finish in a single step. When time is money, those are some big savings.”

Rivian has several Service Centers currently operating in the U.S., with another 70 planned for 2022 according to a Rivian spokesperson. All Service Centers will be able to purchase NSP 150 directly from Dr. Beasley’s.
