In honor of Earth Day, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the ways we try to keep the Earth healthy while making the best detailing products available. Here are just a few examples.
Recycling Cardboard for Packing Material
We go through a lot of cardboard boxes in our warehouse on a daily basis. How do we keep them from going to waste? We recycle them into packing materials that we use for YOUR orders!
How does it work? We start by breaking down the cardboard box, flattening it out completely. Then we remove any tape, stickers or labels still affixed to cardboard.
Once the cardboard is collapsed and free of adhesive, we run it through a special cardboard shredder that perforates the material. This produces a spongy cardboard membrane that perfectly pads the bottom of our packages so no product gets damaged in transit.
Plant-Based Ingredients
Many of the ingredients we use in our detailing product formulations are plant-based such as the grape seed oil, glycerin and fermented maize extract we use in our Vegan Leather Cream.
Beyond being cruelty-free, these plant-based ingredients help vegan leather stay hydrated and supple while maintaining the breathability of the unique material.
Other products utilize plant-based ingredients as well. Fresh Start Home and Garage, our laundry soaps, both contain a plant-based polymer surfactant for deep cleaning soiled linens, towels and pads.
VOC-Free Formulations
V.O.C. stands for “Volatile Organic Compound” and it refers to a type of off-gas emitted by many car detailing products like ceramic coatings.
These VOCs are dangerous for both your health and the environment, so we work hard to eliminate them wherever possible. As a result, many of our detailing products are either low-VOCs or totally VOC-free.
Products 100% free of VOCs include PlasmaCoat (ceramic coating) Matte Paint Cleanser (matte-safe spot cleaner) and even Nano-Resin Pro (self-healing ceramic coating).Â
