When customer Ron purchased his 2014 Carbon Edition SRT Viper, he was no stranger to matte paint care. He had done his research and understood that this paint has different needs than glossy paint. The special care required for matte paint was appealing to Ron because as a true car lover and detailing enthusiast, his ideal weekend is spent cleaning and caring for his car. He enjoys every part of detailing and breaking a sweat while cleaning his vehicle.
Preparations
Before Ron even had the carbon Viper in his driveway, he was already ordering matte paint care products. Dr. Beasley’s is in the carbon Viper Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) as a recommended matte paint care brand, along with a few others.
Trial & Error
Some of the other products Ron tried were cheap, but performed poorly. Some were more expensive than us, but still didn’t do a good job of cleaning and protecting his paint. With other brands, he was having to use a lot more force and rubbing during the application process. He knew that type of friction was the enemy of matte paint. He found Matte Final Finish and Matte Paint Cleanser to be familiar and easy to use. When he tried Matte Paint Coating, he was not immediately sure about it. It wasn’t that the product didn’t perform well, it was that the application process was foreign to him. As a classic car guy, he was used to dry application and the water used with Matte Paint Coating felt unfamiliar. Once he got used to it though, he loved it. He can rest assured that his carbon Viper is protected from staining, UV fading, and etching from water spots. Ron proudly placed our matte paint care sticker in his door jam and sent us his photos:
