How to Remove Bird Dropping Etching | Live Online Detailing Class with Mike Phillips

Last Updated January 3, 2024

Bird droppings are a major annoyance for just about any car owner. They stain your paint finish, and if left to sit for long enough, eventually turn acidic, resulting in an etch mark or indentation in your paint that looks like a faint circle. At this point, only abrasive methods like polishing can level the paint down to erase the etching caused by the bird dropping.

That’s what Mike Phillips is here to explain and demonstrate in this livestream detailing class that originally aired on October 18th, 2023. Mike has a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS with five bird droppings that the owner wants removed, and he’ll be using the Eagle Abrasives system by KOVAX paired with Dr. Beasley’s NSP 150 to erase them from the finish. If that sounds aggressive, don’t worry — Mike’s not afraid of burning the paint because the owner is willing to re-spray the hood if things go south.
